HVO bill in Parliament on 11th Jan 2023 – Write to your MP!

Our successful HVO demonstration trial has proven categorically that this renewable liquid fuel is an ideal replacement for heating oil. It just works, there’s really nothing else to say. Thanks in part to the letters written by our supporters, we have also gained some important political support. Many rural MPs now understand the concerns about the government’s decarbonisation plans and the growing support for HVO as an alternative option. We are extremely grateful for your help in getting these important messages across.

We now have a vital opportunity and need your support…

The next step is to persuade the government to support HVO use in heating and to ensure it is available at an affordable cost. We are delighted to announce that the influential Cornish Conservative MP, George Eustice, is to introduce a Ten Minute Rule Bill in Parliament on Wednesday 11th January to support the use of HVO in heating. The bill seeks to reduce the duty charged on renewable liquid heating fuel, provide for the imposition of obligations on suppliers of heating fuel in relation to the supply of renewable fuel, and for connected purposes.

These are vital steps in making HVO available for heating at an affordable price.

How you can make a difference…

Ten Minute Rule Bills are a good opportunity to raise the profile of an issue and to see whether it has support among other members of Parliament. Please help us to send out a strong message to government by asking your MP to support the Bill.
